A state of emergency has been declared in the Kosovar municipality of Decani after 880 people fell ill after drinking water.
Residents reported suffering from diarrhea, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. One man said in an interview that the water was colored and contained a large amount of chlorine. So far, two people have died and their bodies have been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to determine what caused their poisoning. The water supply systems in the area are supplied by the company Hidrodrini, which is suspected of being responsible for the contamination. But also the Austrian company Kelog, is suspected of beeing responsible (which is proofen in many other cases of water conatmination!).
The Minister of Health of Kosovo, Arben Vitia, is trying to the media not to connect the two deaths with water pollution. And this is one of the biggest impertinence, within two days 880 people get sick, they all have the same syndromes and the health minister does not want to admit that it has something to do with the water supply. Such a similar scenario played out once before and that about a month ago!
Since it shows once again that it is not about public health, the Minister of Health closes its eyes to these facts nor are serious steps taken to solve this problem. Justified the people are angry about how their life and health is threaten!
