On September 10, the road construction workers went on strike and demonstrated outside the building of Parliament in Sofia with 60 trucks and 40 construction machines. They successfully blocked traffic for four hours. The reason: They have not received their wages for four months! The orders were placed by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, but they did not pay any wages. The Ministry run out of money, it had 382 million Bulgarian Leva (BGN) at its disposal, but placed orders for over one billion.
The striking workers are demanding not only their justified wages, but also the resignation of Minister Violeta Komitova, who is responsible for this. The workers announced that they will come to Sofia again, but this time with the “heavy equipment and machines” they used work with, if the problem is not solved!
