For decades now, attention has been drawn to the poor situation of staff, as well as children in kindergartens and after-school care centers. With the crisis, many problems worsened and new ones were added.
In mid-October, educators, parents, children and supporters started a loud protest of over 5,000 people in Vienna. Their demands: More money, smaller groups and more staff are needed for quality care and education in kindergartens and after-school programs. It needs a training offensive, a statutory preparation period and higher wages!
Two public works meetings have already been held, each with very strong participation. A symposium was also organized under the title "Education in Crisis", where pupils, students and parents had their say and made a further contribution to the justified protest in the education sector.
