On Wednesday the 18th of April the Greek sailors went on strike for 24 hours. The reason for this strike is a decision of the Ministry of Merchant Shipping, which allows shipping companies to hire a minimum of sailors on cargo ships, making it easier for shipping companies from other countries to gain a foothold on Greek routes. Many of the mariners would lose their jobs. Unemployment in general in Greece is very high (20.3%).Most affected is the youth with 43,3 % unemployment! The Greek workers are increasingly oppressed and exploited with this new attack of the government, The strikes and protests of the Greek masses are justified! Death to imperialism!
