FINLAND - Huge protests against new law

On Friday 10.000 workers went out into the streets in Helsinki and protest against a law whereby the pressure on unemployed people should be strengthened. It's planned to shorten the unemployment benefit by 4,65 percent if the labor offices come to the view that affected persons aren't active enough in the working search or jobs decline.

The protests are directed against a reorganization introduced in January for unemployed people. Who wants to get the full support of the state have to accepted within three months at least 18 hours small jobs or have spent five days in advanced training programs. Otherwise the unemployment benefit is shortened. 10.000 peoples went on the street against that politic against the working class!
