BIAFRA - Court confirmed the “Indigenous People of Biafra” as a terrorist group

On the 18th of January a court judgment confirmed the Federal Government‘s position, that the "Indigenous People of Biafra" (IPOB) is a terrorist group. Progressive forces in the national liberation movement of Biafra stated: „What did you expect from the court controlled by the same government that called us a terrorist group?“ An activist for the Freedom of Biafra said: „Go and tell government that they can kill the flesh but definitely not the spirit. Many souls may still be killed by the security agencies, but generations after us will continue from where we stopped.“

Already in November 2017 the worldwide organization of the IPOB called up the Biafran people to boycott the elections in Anambra State, with the slogan „Say no to election in Biafraland. Boycott all elections“. They declared: „In fact, the whole electoral exercise in Nigeria is as fraudulent as Nigaria itself. (…) Our votes don‘t count and will never count. (…) Nigeria runs a very corrupt quasi military feudalism modeled on the subservient ethos of the Hausa Fulani traditional emirate system of governance.“ (ipob.org/2017/11/press-release-why-biafrans-have-decided.html)

Now, in January, some youth groups and organizations has formed to defend the Biafra land from any kind of „colonization“, to resist the incursion of Fulani herdsmen into their regions. The struggle together with the Agbekoya Farmers Association, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra and the IPOB. One of the leaders said: „We‘re well prepared to defend Yoruba land“, and „The Tiv youths particularly are pushed to the wall now and have collectively signed their death warrants, ready to pay the supreme price if that would count, to sustain and protect our lands from any form of colonization, be it cattle, human or both.“

This unification for defending Biafra country will give them more strength to resist against attacks, killing and repression from the Government. The oppressed masses have to unite to struggle against the imperialist government, which suppresses and exploits the masses in Biafra and in hole Nigeria. Only by struggling against imperialism, bureaucratic capitalism and feudalism the people can gain their national Independence.
