The German journalist Mesale Tolu was released from prison in Istanbul, along with 5 other suspects in the same case on December 18th. She had been in jail since April. Tolu can not leave Turkey, and because she has German citizenship, she has to register once a week at a police station to confirm that she has not fled the country. Mesale Tolu worked for left media organization since 2014. She is accused of "being a member of a terrorist organization" and "carrying out terrorist propaganda", for example for joining funerals of militant left activists.
