In Beita, a region in the West Bank, Israeli troops are trying to expropriate Palestinian lands and build a settlement. Last Friday, local residents protested against the attempted occupation in order to protect the lives of families as well as to secure the harvest of olive trees from olive growers. Israeli soldiers tried to stop demonstrators who were driving to Beita in support. However, Palestinians found alternative routes to get to the small town and support Beita residents in their protest. With repressive measures, the reactionary Israeli forces keep trying to stop the olive farmers from getting to their fields to harvest - in some areas closed military zones can already be found.
Last Friday, Palestinians in this region were attacked with tear gas. They were able to repel the attacks with several casualties.
Freedom for Palestine!
Long live international solidarity!
