INDIA – News from the People’s War

Six cadres of the CPI(Maoist) were killed in an encounter with the old Indian state’s troops in Andhra Pradesh, in the dense forest at Teegalametta of Koyyuru mandal, in Visakhapatnam district. This is another murder by the notorious “Greyhounds”-special unit by the old Indian state, that has been called exemplatory by Prime Minister Modi, for driving out the Maoist movement from the south-Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, where it once was strong.

Amongst the martyred was district committee commander Comrade Sande Gangaiah.

The Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) of the party released a statement which did not mention the attack, since it might be released earlier. AOBSZC secretary Ganesh criticizes Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to bring real development to the people. Neither with the Navaratnalu schemes, that have been stopped already, nor with putting heavy taxes on the people, with the double games played in the “privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.”, or with the continuous destruction and deplacement for Bauxite mining, that has been allowed to continue with G.O. 89 after before revoking G.O. 97 and also not with diverting the people with the three capitals proposal and creating discord between the people of various regions in the state.

Meanwhile, the Maoist bring real development to the poor natives that live in Andhra Pradesh, where they are strong, to fight the exploitation of the popular masses. Therefore the masses will surely avenge this attack and the martyrs 1000-fold.

There are similar actions against mining projects against the people that took place all over India. In a pamphlet the Communist Party of India (Maoist) has strongly opposed the excavation work of the Surajgarh Iron Ore in project in Maharashtra and warned the workers involved in excavation work to be killed in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra. The letter was found at Surajangarh Iron Mineral Hill. In the past, the CPI (Maoist) has set ablaze 83 vehicles in the area opposing this project, that will plunder the natural resources of the people for the profit of imperialism. Around 10-12 party cadres have set ablaze one JCB and one tractor parked at a construction site of a bridge over Binja Nala at Lamkinand in Tokisood village of Patratu Police Station in Ramgarh District of Jharkhand on June 5. They gave a pamphlet to a labourer identified as Munshi Lagnu Mahli to be handed over to their contracter.

Meanwhile, protests against the old Indian state’s security forces increase. On April 28 in Kanker District of Chhattisgarh, cadres of the CPI(Maoist) executed a police constable, as is said in a statement. In Silger village from Sukma District of Chhattisgarh protests against setting up of a Security Forces (SFs) camp have been raging for almost four weeks.

On June 12th, a pamphlet was distributed by the CPI(Maoist) in Maharashtra. It stated, that the reservation hasn’t brought equality and justice to the socially backward communities for whom it was originally designed and hence may not benefit even the Marathas. Signed by comrade Sahyadri it also pointed out that the community was still lagging behind when Maharashtra has been ruled mostly by leaders of the Maratha community. This is because they have also served the interest of imperialists and capitalists. These Maratha leaders are responsible for the current deprivation of the community.
