GERMANY/TURKEY – Protest against judgment in the “TKP/ML Process”

Last days after the judgment in the "TKP/ML trial" was announced, several actions in different cities in Germany, demanding freedom for the accused, took place!

As already reported in the run-up, the rulers of Germany demanded high prison sentences for the defendants in the "TKP/ML Trial". The sentence provides for the following punishments:

Müslüm Elma: 6 years 6 months

Deniz Pektas: 5 years

Seyit Ali Uğur: 4 years 6 months

Erhan Aktürk: 4 years 6 months

Sinan Aydın: 3 years 6 months

Banu Büyükavcı: 3 years 6 months

Haydar Bern 3 years 4 months

Musa Demir: 3 years 4 months

Sami Solmaz: 3 years

Mehmet Yeşilçalı: 2 years 9 months

These were powerful actions, which were entirely in the spirit of the defendants' statements and closing statements. Despite years of harassment and torture, they did not let themselves be broken and continue to defend the justified struggle against exploitation and oppression! This sentence is an attack on the whole international communist and revolutionary movement, which should be criminalize and illegitimate. Rightly there are and there have been in the past many actions of solidarity worldwide! The actions also expressed solidarity with the imprisoned intellectual and political activists Varavara Rao and G.N. Saibaba!

A rescission of the judgment and further protests are to be expected!

Long live International Solidarity!
