On November 12th, hundreds of tribal protested the construction of a police camp in Patoli village in Dantewada in the district of Chhattisgarh. A representative of the old Indian state‘s police in the region said "A large number of villagers armed with arrows, axes and sharp-edged weapons protested against the setting up of a camp and refused to go back. Police fired in the air and lobbed tear gas shells."
The station is part of the planned offensive of the old Indian state to build 250 new police stations in Chattisgarh, as a part of their „Anti-Naxal“ operations, against the People‘s War led by the CPI (Maoist). The CPI (Maoist) is very active in the area of Chattisgarh. This campaign for so called „peace“ and „development“ is in reality part of the war against the people.
But even while planning the offensive, voices from within the bureaucratic Indian state raised concerns if the police stations will not be breached by the forces CPI (Maoist). The CPI (Maoist) is getting the lively support of the masses of tribal, and is leading them in People‘s war. It seems therefore that the latest offensive has not remained unanswered!
Support the People‘s War in India!
Long live the CPI (Maoist)!
