On 31st of August units of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), lead by the Communist Party of India (Maoist), set fire to Allied Infrastructure & Project machines in Bokaro district, in the state of Jharkhand. Among the destroyed machines have been a poclain excavator, a generator and a mixing machine, so it was reported.
According to police sources, about 30 heavily armed guerrillas entered the company's construction site at night, which is near the Dania railway station and the Bokaro river, and on the edge of the Jageshwar Bihar and Lalpania police station. They asked the construction workers to withdraw from the site and then set fire to the machines that were being used to build a railway bridge. Soon after, the PLGA fighters returned to the forest.
The political objective of these actions against contractors was to prevent roads and other infrastructure works from being completed to ensure that peasants and tribal peoples in these regions retain ownership of the land. This is because these are works in the interests of the large mining companies that aim to settle in the still isolated regions of India, and, once they are installed, expel poor peasants and tribal peoples to take over the soil and territory.
CPI (Maoist) posters denounce murders
Also on 31st of August in the state of Telangana, posters signed by the CPI (Maoist) appeared in the entire district of Bhadradi Kothaguden. They denounced the summary murders promoted by the repressive forces, including the murder of comrade Jady Veeraswami, responsible for the Party Area Committee in Manuguru. The posters also warned that the Hindu leaders of the BJP (Indian People's Party) and TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samiti) parties will be severely punished for their crimes against the Indian masses.
