PHILIPPINES - Successful operation against counterrevolution

In June The New People's Army, the armed arm of the Communist Party of the Philippines, launched an important offensive against the counterrevolutionary forces. They killed two soldiers of the 63rd Infantry Battalion, which tried to invade and attack the forest areas of Brgy, Bay-ang and San Jorge in Samar. In addition, a successful action was made against the 87th Infantry Battalion, which is used to oppress the poor peasants. There have also been reports of an attack on Sonny Moreno, who is known as an active member of the Military Intelligence Service. He is known as a rapist and counterrevolutionary. It has been reported that the actions found great support among the population.
