MANILA: On May 12, guerrillas of the Communist Party of the Philippines killed three soldiers of the Philippians army and wounded eight in a village in Kabankalan City. This happened one day before the village and youth council officials election took place.
20 soldiers came to the area to clear it from a previous action of the NPA (New People‘s Army), in which they set on fire heavy equipment used for the construction of a dam in the same village.
