Like last year, a rally on 8 March was violently attacked on Saturday. The women's platform Ankara gathered under the motto "Strengthening through solidarity - organizing life" in the Istiklal-Street.
The police used pepper spray and rubber bullets and arrested 18 activists.
One of them tweeted: "Our voice was heared in the street. Long live 8th of March! We are not silent, we are not afraid, we do not obey!"
The women's organizations are not intimidated and have announced demonstrations for the 8th of March.
There is also a protest planned in Istanbul's Istiklal-Street by the women platform Ankara: "The fight of women can not be prevented. Long live 8th of March!"
