GERMANY - Another large-scale demonstration against the law on assemblies.

On October 30, 5,000 people took to the streets in the city of Cologne to demonstrate against the new Assembly Law. This was the third large demonstration in which, among others, football fans, trade unionists and various democratic and revolutionary organizations participated. An anti-capitalist-internationalist bloc, with a contingent of proletarian revolutionaries from Germany and Turkey, was also part of the demonstration. The demonstration moved through the city center and neighborhoods with a powerful and struggling expression.

With the Assembly Law, elementary basic rights are being undermined and fighting protest is to be criminalized and banned even more easily in the future. The enforcement of the Assembly Law is now being carried out in one federal state, but will serve as a model for others.

The fact that the law has not been passed to this day is due, among other things, to the fact that the state government has been repeatedly put under pressure by the struggle of a broad movement. In addition to the large demonstrations in July, August and October, smaller actions have occurred time and again. Through the actions and the justified resistance of the masses, the proposal for the Assembly Act still could not be passed!
