INTERNATIONAL – Report of protests in solidarity with George Floyd rebellion

The killing of the afro-American George Floyd on the 25th of May 2020 in Minneapolis (Minnesota) by police-officers was the starting point for the biggest rebellion in the United States since the 1960s. In more than 75 cities protests and rebellions were the justified answer to police violence and oppression of the black people. In 40 cities the government imposed night-time curfews and several American states mobilized the national guard against the rebellion. On an international level protests followed on every continent in over 60 countries around the world, even though in a lot of countries there are still restrictions in the right of assembly. The protests were in solidarity with the rebellion in the US, but also addressed the oppression of black people and the police killings and repression in their own countries.

The justified rebellion and the huge protests around the world are an expression of the aggravation of the general crisis of capitalism. As part of the general crisis, especially the political crisis is aggravating fast at the current time, catalysed threw the corona-pandemic. The protests are justified and it is shown the there is more and more developing an revolutionary situation, where the bourgeoisie looses the control over the broad masses in whole cities and areas. It is a situation of great importance and it shows the urgend necessity of the revolutionary and communist forces, the communist party, showing the way for struggle and give an proletarian orientation in this stormy situation.

The ruling class in the US tries hardly to influence and nutralize this protests, leading it into liberal paths wich are "comfortable" for imperialism. This process is not new, but started already since the 1990s with the spread of reactionary theories of "post-modernism“. In the last years especially with diversity- and identity politics. It serves the interests of the imperialists to fragment, split and canalize the protests in a liberal way, in the US it is the democrats who try to do that, in the other countries especially the social democrats and „Green“ parties. The bourgeois parties are trying to use the protests for their own interests, to stay in power.

The proletarian and revolutionary forces around the world are struggling for the implementation of a proletarian and anti-imperialist standpoint. They are making clear, that the exploitation and oppression of the black people is not a question of diversity-politics. The oppression of black people in the US is a class-question, which was also shown with the corona-virus, because even though 13 percent of the US-American people are black, 70 percent of the corona-deaths were black people! And the oppression of black people in the United States is also a national question: national oppression by imperialism.

Mao Zedong wrote on the big uprisings in the US after the murderer of Martin Luther King 1968: "Racial discrimination in the United States is a product of the colonialist and imperialist system. The contradiction between the Black masses in the United States and the U.S. ruling circles is a class contradiction. Only by overthrowing the reactionary rule of the U.S. monopoly capitalist class and destroying the colonialist and imperialist system can the Black people in the United States win complete emancipation. The Black masses and the masses of white working people in the United States have common interests and common objectives to struggle for. Therefore, the Afro-American struggle is winning sympathy and support from increasing numbers of white working people and progessives in the United States. The struggle of the Black people in the United States is bound to merge with the American workers’ movement, and this will eventually end the criminal rule of the U.S. monopoly capitalist class."

There are also proletarian forces around the world, who mobilize, collect and organize the masses in rebellion against imperialism. They point out that it urgently needs the proletarian vanguard to lead the protests and rebellion in service of the people. They point out that the communist parties have to be reconstituted in the struggle for melting deeply with the masses, to successfully struggle against racism and imperialism. The great communist Mao Zedong said: „Everything reactionary is the same; if you do not hit it, it will not fall.“, which is an important teaching for all forces, who want to struggle against the root of racism and police-violence against the people‘s masses.

The rebellions in the US had also an great impact on the masses in Europe. The protests are carried out in many countries in a huge part from the petty-bourgeoisie, which shows the urgent need to push back the influence of the bourgeoisie in the protests, to give orientation and direction to the protests, in order to make the protests becoming a support of the worldwide struggle against imperialism.

In the following we want to show a report of the protests around the world, from the struggle of the people‘s masses and from the activities of the proletarian and revolutionary forces who already struggle to develop leadership and orientation in service of the proletariat and the people‘s masses. In view of the numerous international solidarity protests there is no claim for completeness, but we try to give an overview and an expression of the amount and quality of the protests and actions.
