PAPUA NEW GUINEA - Refugee camp closed

The Australian refugee camp in Manus was closed on 31st of October by an court decision, because it is unconstitutional. Hundreds of refugees were refused to leave, so they are occupying the camp since October.

The refugees were brought to Manus not to enter Australia. The Australian government wants to prevent a "mass escape" to Australia, so they tried to distribute refugees to third countries. They concluded a contract with Papua New Guinea to establish refugee camps, but Papua New Guinea did not establish them permanently, that is why now the camp was closed.

As they closed down the camp, the government agency also stopped the electricity and water supply. Also foods are getting very hard in the camp. On Thursday the police charged the camp. They charged single rooms and water tanks. Now all of them are placed in the new camps.

The whole issue is an expression of imperialism!
